Campaign design for Manchester International Festival
As part of MIF19, I created the campaign design for The Nico Project.
Co-created by Maxine Peake and Sarah Frankcom, The Nico Project is a stirring theatrical immersion into Nico’s sound, her identity and the world in which she fought to be heard. Inspired by her stark, bleak and beautiful 1968 album The Marble Index.
I worked with photographer Jon Shard to capture the lead image of Maxine Peake as Nico, a moody intense portrayal. For the programme I introduced a photocopied fanzine style to accompany features such as women in the music industry today.
Following a premiere at Manchester International Festival in July 2019, The Nico Project has since toured at Melbourne International Arts Festival.
