Campaign design for Manchester International Festival
As part of MIF19 I created the campaign design for several commissions including Atmospheric Memory, one of the most exciting and extraordinary events on the MIF19 programme, by artist Rafael Lozano-Hemmer.
Inspired by computing pioneer Charles Babbage’s 180-year-old proposal that the air is a ‘vast library’ holding every word ever spoken, this breathtaking interactive art environment enables you to see, hear and even touch the sounds that travel through the atmosphere.
Staged in a custom-built chamber this required bespoke hoardings, signage and way-finding. On digital platforms we animated the smoke photography, provided by the artist and created a mircosite for educational visitors complete with programmes, T-shirts and packs.
